Toyota Becomes the Safest Brand According to the ASEAN NCAP GrandPrix Award 2018
Commitment to always prioritizing safety principles through the development of quality and completeness of safety features has succeeded in placing Toyota products in the top position in the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program for South East Asia Countries (ASEAN NCAP). In the ASEAN NCAP GrandPrix Award 2018 which is carried out every 2 years, Toyota has been named the best and has the right to be awarded the ASEAN NCAP Excellent Award for the Most 5 Star Brand (2017-2018).
The award was given because of the safety features for drivers and passengers pinned on new cars launched by Toyota, the most getting the highest rating or 5 stars NCAP in two consecutive years, compared to other brands marketed in Indonesia.
In addition, at the event which was held in conjunction with the 10th ASEAN Automobile Safety Forum (November 13-15 2018) in Karawang, West Java, two Toyota products in the sedan and SUV segments namely Toyota Vios and Rush also managed to get the ASEAN NCAP Excellent Award for Continuous Safety Improvement. Vios who filled the Toyota sedan segment was considered serious in an effort to improve safety protection because in 2018 it won a rating of 5 stars for NCAP after previously in 2012 won 4 NCAP stars.
Rush's same effort was made so that in 2018 this also won a 5-star rating for NCAP after previously in 2014 it received a rating of 4 stars. While the new Toyota C-HR launched in Indonesia earlier this year also successfully won ASEAN NCAP for the Best Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) Award with a rating of 5 stars after previously in May 2018 it also won NCAP's highest rating for the driver protection category and child passengers (Child Occupant Protection / COP).
In addition to getting official recognition as a brand that has the highest safety rating, the other ASEAN NCAP GrandPrix 2018 award that has been achieved shows that Toyota with its Kaizen spirit is always committed to prioritizing the element of safety for the cars it produces.

New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) is an assessment program for safety protection for drivers and passengers of a new car. The ASEAN NCAP GrandPrix Award, which is implemented every 2 years, aims to reward the achievement of high achievement in paying attention to the safety aspects of cars marketed in the ASEAN Region.
In addition to the vehicle assessment that was nominated, the ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix also provided an assessment of the superiority of research and the application of safety technology that was carried out and applied to nominated cars. A series of hit-test (crash test) carried out on the cars nominations to determine the level of protection of the safety of driver and passengers adults (AOP), drivers and passengers of children (COP), as well as the completeness of the safety support device (safety assist) owned.
